Jimaku and the seller

Jimaku is operated by Felix Keller, trading as Felix Design. Contact: contact@jimaku.app. The operator’s postal address is provided in the Impressum — postal address, which forms part of these operator details.

Premium minutes are sold through Stripe Managed Payments. Link appears as the merchant of record (“Sold through Link”) at checkout and on receipts. The legal seller and the terms for your purchase are identified at checkout. Those purchase terms apply alongside these terms for using Jimaku. Stripe/Link handles payments, applicable sales taxes, payment support, refunds and disputes; Jimaku provides the subtitle service and product support.

Subtitles and accounts

You can watch available subtitles and use Standard without signing in. Standard translates YouTube’s automatic captions for free, up to 10 hours of video a day. Premium transcribes the video’s audio. AI subtitles can contain mistakes.

Google sign-in is required to claim promotional minutes or buy minutes. Signing in moves the current install’s minutes to your account and makes that balance available in other browsers signed in to the same account. Signing out leaves those minutes on the account. Sign out on shared devices.

Account-linked promotional and purchased minutes have no expiry date, including after sign-out, reinstalling or promotion closure. Normal spending, refunds, disputes and account deletion still affect the balance.

Any early-user offer requires a separate claim on the account page after Google sign-in. It is limited to one successful claim per Google account and 415 successful claims in total, with no monthly refill. Reinstalling, signing out or deleting an account does not create another claim. Temporary limits apply. An offer’s fixed deadline applies to claiming, not to the validity of account minutes.

Claim 60 Premium minutes in the extension’s account page after Google sign-in, once per Google account. The offer ends 1 December 2026 at 00:00:00.000 UTC, with 415 successful claims in total across the whole promotion. It can close earlier if capacity is exhausted or the offer is withdrawn. Temporary claim limits apply. Remaining account minutes have no expiry date, subject to spending, refund or dispute adjustments and account deletion.

Prices and payment

€1 buys 60 Premium minutes at the same rate for every amount, with tax included. Choose €2, €5 or €10, or your own amount in whole euros from €1 to €100. For example, €5 buys 300 minutes. These are one-time purchases, with no subscription or automatic renewal.

Payment takes place on Stripe’s hosted checkout. Checkout can show a converted amount in your local currency; review the final total there before paying. Your minutes depend on the euro amount you selected.

Minutes become available as soon as Stripe confirms successful payment. You can then use them immediately by starting a Premium subtitle job. Returning to Jimaku’s website alone does not prove payment. If confirmation is delayed, check your receipt and your balance before paying again.

How minutes are used

Premium uses the video’s duration, measured in seconds. A video longer than your available balance cannot start. Watching subtitles already available, joining work already running, and translating an existing Premium transcript do not spend minutes. Free minutes count as used first, then the oldest purchase.

A failed subtitle job returns its minutes. Stopping a job before transcription starts also returns them. Once transcription has started, the minutes stay spent if a transcript is produced.

Refunds and payment disputes

Request refunds through Stripe/Link support, using the details on your receipt. Stripe/Link handles and decides refund requests.

Jimaku’s voluntary refund policy covers unused purchased minutes only. It does not limit Stripe/Link’s refund policy or your statutory rights, including rights concerning defective or undelivered services. Where Stripe/Link offers broader protection, its policy takes precedence. See the Sold through Link refund policy.

A refund removes the corresponding share of a purchase’s minutes. A payment dispute temporarily removes that purchase’s unrefunded minutes; they return if the dispute is resolved in the seller’s favour or closed without a chargeback.

If refunded or disputed minutes have already been used, the balance can show minutes owed. Future purchases cover those minutes first. Premium can start again once enough minutes are available; Standard and existing subtitles remain available. A negative minute balance does not trigger another payment or an automatic charge.

Consumer rights and immediate service

The Sold through Link terms provide consumers in the EU and UK with a 14-day cooling-off period from access to or delivery of the purchase. To exercise it, contact Link supportand give “cooling off period” as the reason for your refund request.

Making minutes available immediately, accepting these terms or using minutes does not itself waive your withdrawal rights. The seller’s purchase terms and withdrawal information apply. Jimaku’s voluntary unused-minutes policy does not restrict those rights or your remedies for defective or undelivered services. Jimaku can help with product questions at the contact address above.

Account deletion and privacy

You can request account deletion through the email link on the extension’s account page, which includes your account ID. Deletion removes the Google account ID and the minute balance and signs out linked installs. Contact support about remaining paid minutes before deletion; deletion is not a refund request and does not remove statutory refund rights.

Jimaku keeps purchase records without a link to the deleted account to handle later payment events. If you claimed the promotion, minimal recognition data remains to prevent another claim until permanent closure, then is removed by hourly cleanup within 24 hours. This recognition data is not anonymous. Stripe/Link handles its own records separately. The privacy policy explains the data used for subtitles, sign-in and purchases.
